Walking School Bus News
Wednesday, July 30th, 2008
It has been a rainy start to the term for our Walking School Bus! Although we did run the bus last Tuesday, actual rain will normally mean the bus is cancelled for safety reasons. We are hoping for nothing but sunny days from here though, so we’ll see everyone next week for the regular fun trip to Orange Grove! And don’t forget, if you would like to try Driving or Conducting let one of the operators know!
The WSB will run again Tuesday 29th July.

The kids have been training hard, and the school Athletics Carnival looks like upstaging the events in Beijing this year! As usual, the P&C will be holding a lunchtime sausage sizzle at King George Oval, so make sure you get your orders in using the order form in this newsletter. Copies will be available from the school office. If the wet weather means the carnival is postponed, the sausage sizzle will still go ahead, and the kids will get their sausages from the canteen at lunch time!
Wests Tigers will play their last home game for 2008 on the weekend of August 30th/31st, against the Cronulla Sharks. Orange Grove PS will as usual be parking cars in our school grounds, but this time we will be holding our 125th Birthday Footy Parking Sausage Sizzle as well. Game details are yet to be confirmed, but we will need extra people before and after the game to make this a truly memorable event! Please let Louise or Justine know, or drop a note in the P&C Box in the school office if you think you can help!
Wests Tigers staged a mighty comeback to try and topple the Warriors on Sunday, and while they were not successful, Orange Grove PS certainly were! By the time the game kicked off, we had parked an amazing 350 cars in our school grounds, and raised $3,500 towards our school improvements! Thank you to all the fantastic parking volunteers, your efforts were well appreciated!!
