Band News

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

On Sunday the 14th September, the Orange Grove Concert Band performed as part of the Inner West Ensemble Festival at Burwood Girls High School. With our Bandmaster Bob Young, our band played two delightful pieces to an appreciative audience. The children enjoyed themselves immensely, and behaved very professionally, a real credit to our school!

A Letter of Thanks

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

To our School Community - A SPECIAL P&C THANK-YOU!We always knew it was going to be a magnificent day for our school, the extraordinary amount of detail and effort that went into the planning stages would surely make for an unforgettable event. In the end it was more magnificent and more extraordinary than the most creative imagination could have envisaged.

The P&C would like to formally thank our exceptional school community for making our 125th Birthday Party an event that will be remembered for a very long time. It was a team effort on the most unprecedented scale, involving every single member of our dedicated and talented school staff, our reliable and flexible school community, and especially our shining, precious children.

The baking was so incredible in both quality and quantity that we fed everyone at the event all day, and then delivered 8 boxes to ‘Just Enough Faith’ to be shared among Sydney’s homeless population that night. The P&C have never organized a cocktail party, especially on the scale of Friday night, but with the help of the organizers and the many people who jumped in to help out throughout the event, it was a raging success - the band even had a great time!

It was a highlight for many to share the day with so many students and teachers from past and present Orange Grove school communities, swapping stories and sharing some history.

Thank-you Orange Grove for being a place where we can all belong and celebrate together so harmoniously!

The P&C Executive.
