The end of the year is fast approaching, and now is a great time to stock up on uniform items in preparation for the start of the 2009 school year! The uniform shop is located in the entranceway of Block B, and can supply all of your child’s OGPS uniform needs.Next year we will be seeking a new member for our Uniform Committee, so we would be very keen to hear from someone who can volunteer time on a Wednesday morning between 8.30am and 9.10am. If this sounds like something you can help with, please have a chat with Stephanie or Muriel at the Uniform Shop on any Wednesday, or drop a note in the P&C Box in the office.
Thanks to everyone who got involved in the 2009 Planning Meeting on Tuesday night, there were certainly some great ideas and discussions circulating! We are almost ready for 2009, and it looks like being another incredible year for the OGPS P&C.
The year is fast drawing to a close, and in keeping with our Walking School Bus tradition, December is the month we hold our Fun and Festive Xmas Bus Trip! This will be NEXT TUESDAY, so dust off your Santa Hats and reindeer antlers, or whatever Christmassy adornments you choose to wear, and join us for a Carol Singing journey into Orange Grove next Tuesday! We will start the Walking School Sleigh at the corner of Church & Mary streets at 8.43am, or walk to the Grocer’s on the corner of Mary St by 8.47am and we can pick you up! And don’t forget, if you would like to try Driving or Conducting let one of the operators know!
Junior Band auditions were held on Monday morning, and we had a very good turn out of enthusiastic performers! By early next week, those students will know the results of their audition, and we look forward to welcoming them into the band. Any student who missed the session can still audition, they will need to speak to Bob Young the Bandmaster on a Friday morning and he can liaise with the teacher in question.

The President knows and consistently applies the constitution of the Association and fosters equal participation of all members with the help of our two Vice-Presidents. Outside of meetings, the President can sometimes act as a spokesperson for the Orange Grove P&C where public statements or actions are appropriate. The President makes sure that new members are always made welcome, and assists everyone in making the Orange Grove P&C into the successful and productive Association that our children deserve. As the convener of the Executive Committee, the President is a member of all sub-committees by virtue of office, and at Orange Grove these include the Canteen, Band, Uniform and Fundraising Committees.
