Oh, Gee!! “Farewell 2008″ Laughternoon Tea!!!

Our Oh, Gee!! Laughternoon Teas have become a great way to begin and end the year at Orange Grove. So come along to our farewell event next Friday, and we can all have a cup of coffee or tea and chat about the year that was! It’s been fast and furious for everyone, we think, so this will be a chance to unwind. So come along, bring a plate or just yourself and the kids, and enjoy yourself!Refreshments available, children must be accompanied by an adult!!

Orders for 125th Birthday Commemorative items

The P&C are still taking orders for the 125th birthday commemorative items, and we have accordingly extended the date for accepting orders to December 12th. Order forms went home to each family again this week, and there are copies in the School Office, but hurry, because stocks are starting to run low!

Uniform Shop News - HELP NEEDED IN 2009

The end of the year is fast approaching, and now is a great time to stock up on uniform items in preparation for the start of the 2009 school year! The uniform shop is located in the entranceway of Block B, and can supply all of your child’s OGPS uniform needs.Next year we will be seeking a new member for our Uniform Committee, so we would be very keen to hear from someone who can volunteer time on a Wednesday morning between 8.30am and 9.10am. If this sounds like something you can help with, please have a chat with Stephanie or Muriel at the Uniform Shop on any Wednesday, or drop a note in the P&C Box in the office.

2009 P&C Thank-You BBQ

2009 has been another tremendous year for the Orange Grove P&C Association, all thanks to the efforts of those who gave so graciously and freely of their time and energy. If you were one of those magnificent people, we would love you to come along to our Christmas Thank-You BBQ, so we can all celebrate our success!

When: Wednesday, December 10th
Time: 6.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Courtyard area outside the canteen
Menu: BBQ goodies, salads, bread and drinks

Christmas Walking School Bus News

What a magnificent festive spectacle the Walking School Bus made on Tuesday morning!! There was carol singing the entire way to school, and what a talented bunch of choristers our Orange Grove Bus passengers are!! There were Xmas adornments aplenty, and our brand new Orange Grove Jingle Bells was ‘road tested’ as well - marvelous fun!! Only one more trip left this term, which is next week. The WSB will not run on the day of the Nielsen Park excursion the following week. Our last 2008 bus will start at the corner of Church & Mary streets at 8.43am, or you can walk to the Grocer’s on the corner of Mary St by 8.47am and we can pick you up! And don’t forget, if you would like to try Driving or Conducting let one of the operators know!The Last WSB for 2008 will run on Tuesday 9th December.

‘Friday Night Fever’ - 2008 OGPS Trivia Challenge!

Last Friday Night’s Fever-ish Trivia challenge was simply stunning! The venue was magnificently adorned, the atmosphere was superb, and the clothes were so authentic that the time-warp was almost real!! There were more afros in the room on Friday than have been seen together since the Jackson Five hung up their microphones - and wigs, facial hair, and grooooovy outfits all made it a night to remember. By next week we will have tallied all income, and we’ll be able to tell you what funds we raised, in the meantime a HUGE thanks goes out to absolutely everyone who was involved in this awesome event!And the answers to our tantalizing Newsletter Trivia?

P&C 2009 Fundraising Planning Meeting

Thanks to everyone who got involved in the 2009 Planning Meeting on Tuesday night, there were certainly some great ideas and discussions circulating! We are almost ready for 2009, and it looks like being another incredible year for the OGPS P&C.

Walking School Bus News

The year is fast drawing to a close, and in keeping with our Walking School Bus tradition, December is the month we hold our Fun and Festive Xmas Bus Trip! This will be NEXT TUESDAY, so dust off your Santa Hats and reindeer antlers, or whatever Christmassy adornments you choose to wear, and join us for a Carol Singing journey into Orange Grove next Tuesday! We will start the Walking School Sleigh at the corner of Church & Mary streets at 8.43am, or walk to the Grocer’s on the corner of Mary St by 8.47am and we can pick you up! And don’t forget, if you would like to try Driving or Conducting let one of the operators know!

The Xmas WSB will run on Tuesday 2nd December.
