Last Saturday started off cool, but the heat wasn’t long in coming! Despite a reduced crowd of shoppers at the Growers Markets, our cake stall managed to net $360 towards our fundraising efforts! A huge thank-you to all those who volunteered their baking skills, their time on the day, or who visited the stall and went home with some freshly baked goodies - you are all wonderful. This was our last cake stall for 2008, and we look forward to getting those ovens going next year!!

This week saw a wonderful turn out for the walking school bus, and the trip was delightful!! Next week we will be heading into school on Melbourne Cup Day, so we welcome any passengers who wish to get into the equestrian feel of the morning!! Maybe you have a toy horse who would like to get out into the fresh air and feel the wind in it’s mane, or perhaps our passengers would enjoy a brisk trot or canter into school to get the day off to a racing start!! Join us when we start from the corner of Church & Mary streets, or walk to the Grocer’s on the corner of Mary St and we can pick you up! Giddy-up everyone!! And don’t forget, if you would like to try Driving or Conducting let one of the operators know! The WSB will run again on Tuesday 4th November.

On Sunday the 14th September, the Orange Grove Concert Band performed as part of the Inner West Ensemble Festival at Burwood Girls High School. With our Bandmaster Bob Young, our band played two delightful pieces to an appreciative audience. The children enjoyed themselves immensely, and behaved very professionally, a real credit to our school!
